McCallum Disability Services is celebrating Disability Pride Month this July by launching its new Strategic Plan, using the occasion as a chance to highlight participant stories and the impact of its programs and services. Disability Pride Month provides a powerful opportunity to showcase the work the organisation does across regional Victoria and to share the personal stories of participants who are the heart of every program.
The timing brings together two significant milestones that both celebrate the strengths of people with disability and set a clear direction for McCallum’s future. Disability Pride Month is recognised internationally as a time to celebrate identity, strength and the vital contributions people with disability make to their communities.
McCallum CEO, Rhiannon Williams, said the timing could not be better. “The start of a new financial year is the perfect moment to celebrate our new direction. Our Strategic Plan sets McCallum up for success into the future and aligns perfectly with the values we honour during Disability Pride Month. This month is not only about recognising McCallum and the work we do. It is about celebrating the personal stories of the people we support and the impact our programs have on their lives.”
The launch of McCallum’s new Strategic Plan reinforces the organisation’s long-standing position of trust across regional Victoria. As a registered NDIS provider McCallum has supported people with disability for more than 70 years and continues to play a central role in the lives of participants families and local communities. The plan provides a clear roadmap for the next three years built around four key pillars of People, Community, Impact and Our Future setting the foundation for long term sustainability. These pillars reinforce McCallum’s vision of enriching lives every day and strengthen the organisation’s commitment to person-centred practice, inclusion and meaningful participation.
Disability Pride Month and the launch of the Strategic Plan share a united message. Both highlight the importance of visibility, respect and opportunity. Both recognise the strengths and contributions of people with disability and set the foundation for a future where every person is supported to lead a flourishing life.
